Why three seconds

Long videos sit unwatched. Three seconds is enough for a laugh, a wave, the sound of the rain or a dog sneezing, and short enough that people actually watch it.

How to send one

In DuoFrame:

  1. Open the camera and switch to VIDEO.
  2. Hold or tap the shutter. It stops by itself at three seconds.
  3. Add a caption or a song if you like.
  4. Pick who gets it and send. You can leave the screen; it keeps uploading.

What they see

Their widget shows a frame from the clip with its length, like “0:03”. Opening it plays the clip. On Android it starts as soon as the first part arrives, so they don’t wait for the whole file.
