What families usually try
The family chat group fills up fast and photos get lost between forwards. Shared albums work but nobody opens them. Social media means posting your kids’ photos where far more people than family can see them.
What usually works best for parents and grandparents is the simplest thing: the photo appears where they already look, without them having to do anything.
Set up a private family group
On DuoFrame:
- Install DuoFrame on your phone and theirs.
- Send them your invite link on WhatsApp and accept on their phone.
- Create a group called Family and add everyone.
- Add the group widget to each person’s home screen.
- Send photos to the group. They stay with the group and show on every member’s widget.
Setting it up for an older parent
Do it in person if you can. Place the widget yourself, make it big, and turn off notifications they won’t need. On Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo phones also allow DuoFrame in the battery settings, or the widget can stop updating.
Groups hold up to 20 people, so grandparents, cousins and siblings can all be in one.
What stays private
Only people in the group see the photos. There is no public profile and nobody can search for you. You can remove someone from the group at any time.
